List Rules

When subscribing to the list, please be mindful of Netiquette and fellow list members. (Here's a really good Netiquette guide, or you can find other sites here.) You may want to "lurk" for a couple of days before submitting any posts to the list, especially if you've never been on a mailing list before.

Please be nice to your fellow list members. Personal attacks on fellow list members will be cause for placement into moderated status or even banishment from the list. All new members are automatically placed in "moderated" status, meaning their posts must be approved by one of the moderators before it is sent to the group.

Once you have posted a few times and shown that you can follow list rules, you will be taken off moderated status. If you post very infrequently or not at all, you will probably never be unmoderated. If you repeatedly break list rules while in moderated status, you will remain in moderated status.

Acceptable topics:

	The Renegades! Game summaries, box scores, news, analysis, criticism, events, booster club information, player developments, front office news, player appearances, and inquiries are all acceptable posts. Information about former players and coaches is fine.
	Rumors and conjecture are OK, too, but please make it clear you are posting a rumor or your own thoughts and not facts.
	The ECHL and the Renegades' affiliates are to some extent fair game, but please remember that there are already several lists that discuss the ECHL and the other teams. Extensive ECHL/affiliates posts should be sent there.
	If you have Renegades items for sale, it is OK to post them on the list, but please ask for all replies and inquiries to be sent to you privately. If you have multiple items, one post generally describing the items and how list members can get information is the way to go. Please use common sense -- we don't want a flea market on the list.

Non-acceptable topics:

	Flames and insults to other list members. Some disagreement is expected -- even encouraged -- but no personal attacks are allowed.
	DO NOT send email forwards, virus warnings, or chain letters to the list. Ever. Even if you think you are being helpful, DON'T DO IT. (Thank you!)
	No puck bunny talk. Please take it elsewhere.
	No HTML or attachments may be sent to the list. Send your posts in plain text, if possible. And if you want to share a file, photo, or other document with the list, upload it to the Files or Photos section, and then let the list know where and what it is. If you can't upload those materials, email them to me (email me first to warn they are coming), and I can upload them for you.
	Copyrighted materials -- especially articles. If you find something you think the list would find interesting, post the link, NOT the entire text. Even if you give credit to the source, it is still a copyright violation unless the author/publisher has granted you permission to re-post it. It is not only illegal and unethical, but also a Yahoo! TOS violation and could get the list shut down.
	As a corollary to the above, posts may not be forwarded to other lists or to people not on the list without permission from the original poster.
	No foul language. If it would make your grandmother blush, don't use it here.
	Don't try to play "list cop" if you don't like what another member is posting. Contact the list owner and/or moderators off-list and let them deal with the situation.

Special Rules for Digest Members:

	When replying to a digest, DO NOT include the entire digest in your reply (you should be using cut and paste to include only the relevant portions of your post anyway, but this is a really big no-no).
	Please change the subject from "Richmond_Renegades Digest No. XXX" to something more appropriate.
